Hot Surfers

Even those people who aren’t surfers themselves are attracted to surfing, mainly because it seems like there are a lot of hot surfers hitting the waves, both hot surfer guys and hot surfer girls. But while the image of the hot surfer isn’t entirely untrue, surfing is most definitely so much more than just physical appearance.

Many surfers consider themselves part of a particular culture that is centered around the ocean, the waves and nature in general. There are varying levels of dedication to this culture, with some people engaging in surfing on a recreational basis, while others actually center their lives around the sport.

The popularity of the sport has spawned a multi-billion dollar industry, with companies promoting the hot surfer chicks and hot surfer guys image to attract more young people to the sport. Because of all the money involved in the sport, there are actually surfers that can make a living by surfing; these surfers market and/or sell surf-related products, compete in surf contests and land corporate sponsorships.

Other surfers, known as “soul surfers” do not look kindly on the involvement of the media and industry in the world of surfing. Whether there are hot surf chicks or hot surf boys, these surfers practice surfing solely for personal enjoyment and fulfillment, reaching a sort of addictive Zen state when riding waves.

Indeed, for many, surfing takes on a very spiritual nature and surfers often connect their surfing activities to their religious beliefs. Some congregations in California take part in sermons on the beach, followed by surfing sessions. The common spirituality among surfers is seen during memorial services for surfers who have passed away. Surfers in the memorial service paddle out to a certain location with leis or flowers, form a circle, hold hands and pray silently. The leis and flowers and then thrown into the middle of the circle. If a person has just recently died, oftentimes their ashes are placed in the middle of the circle, into the ocean. The participants then begin a surf session.

Ok, so despite its great spirituality, surfing has the added advantage of being a sport full of hot surf chicks and boys. You can’t beat a sport where great bodies are constantly parading around in bathing suits or very flattering wetsuits. If you’d like to see hotties in action, like hot girls surfing, let’s say, there are plenty of places you can go. Ocean Beach, in San Diego is definitely one of them, as it is the classic beach and surf town. A hot surfer chick or two or ten can also be seen in places like Australia or Hawaii. Finally, a great (and satisfying) place to catch a glimpse of a hot surfer girl is at a surfing competition; fortunately, women are increasingly more present at the higher levels of competitive surfing.
