Skateboarding Magazine

Almost every sport has at least one magazine that keeps enthusiasts up to date with information, top players and gear. Skateboarding is no different. Actually, there are quite a number of skateboarding magazines out there that provide skaters with all kinds of news, pictures, videos and interviews regarding skateboarding and skateboarding personalities. Skateboarding magazine covers often feature top skate pros. Some skateboard magazines are paper magazines, others are online magazines, and others have both paper and online components; obviously, you have to pay for the paper copies, while the online versions can be seen as a sampling or a limited free skateboard magazine.

One of the most popular skateboarding magazines is Thrasher; you can either get a paper subscription to Thrasher skateboard magazine or check it out online. On Thrasher’s site you’ll be able to find interviews with skateboard pros and news of upcoming skating events or video releases. There’s a whole line of Thrasher products that you can buy, including T-shirts, skate bags, DVDs, hats, stickers and other items. There are skate videos that you can download for free and a list of all the skate parks in the country.

The Skateboard Mag is another skateboarding magazine. This magazine offers an area where you can conveniently manage your subscription, in addition to all the fun features offered by other skateboard magazines. The offerings at The Skateboard Mag shop are a bit smaller than what’s offered by Thrasher; you’ll really only find T-shirts and stickers. There’s a blogging area where visitors can post comments and videos, and an “interact” area where visitors can post questions to skateboarding pros on specific topics or just write in to the magazine.

Then there’s Slap Skateboard Magazine; again, part of the content of this skateboard magazine can be viewed online, while the full magazine is available in paper. As with other skateboarding magazines, you’ll be able to purchase products with the magazine logo on them and there’s a forum for discussions.

These are by no means the only skateboarding magazines available. There’s 411 Video Magazine, Automatic, Concrete Wave, SBC skateboards and Big Brother skateboard magazine; Big Brother skateboarding magazine, though, has pretty much gone under. There are also smaller, underground type magazines, such as Paying in Pain. To add to the selection, there is also Industria, a European skateboarding magazine that is primarily geared towards skate shop owners and skaters interested in the industry. Each type of skateboarder magazine has its own writing and presentation style; you should take a peek at all of them and perhaps you’ll decide you like one or two the best.

While there are really no fully free skateboard magazines, if you’re on a budget, you can limit yourself to checking out the online versions of these skate mags. Actually, some sites offer contests where you can win a free issue of a skateboarding magazine or even free skateboarding magazine subscriptions. A free skateboarding magazine subscription can be for one year of free skateboarding magazines or more.
