Skateboard Brands
If you’re getting into skateboarding, you might be overwhelmed by the numerous skateboard brands available on the market, such as Baker brand skateboards, Flip skateboard brand models and Girl skateboard brand models. There are also skateboarding brands that offer more than simple skateboards or other companies, like skateboard clothing brands, that simply offer clothing or other accessories; the Volcom skateboard brand, for example, offers skateboarding shoes. With all this variety, it is only natural to ask what the best skateboard brands are.
When looking through all the skateboard brand names, a good idea would definitely be to check out as many reviews on different brands of skateboards as possible. You could also head down to your local skate shop and ask for advice; if you know any skateboarders or know where skateboarders hang out, you could also ask someone more experienced than you for tips on which skateboard brand might be right for you; if you don’t have any contact with skaters, you could hop online and post some questions on skateboarding forums. Many skaters, though, think that the best way to decide which board to buy is to actually take a look at some boards in action.

The most important thing to keep in mind is to never buy a cheap $20 skateboard from Kmart or some toy store. These boards are not made by professionals and could actually end up being dangerous. It’s a much better idea to get a board that’s a bit more expensive but that will minimize safety risks. There are some skateboard brand companies that make cheaper, yet high quality skateboards, to offer the beginning skateboarder a chance to get his or her feet wet.
There are the MiniLogo complete skateboards, made by Powell skateboard company. Powell is a famous skateboard company and its beginner skateboards cost less than its professional grade boards because they have no skateboard brand logo on them. The professional skateboarder Andy Macdonald makes cheap skateboards for beginners as well; these are also high-quality boards made with beginners in mind. The skateboard company SkateOne offers Golden Dragon Skateboards, which are also affordable and whose quality is similar to the Andy Macdonald beginner boards.
Another option is to simply purchase a professional level skateboard, with one of the many professional skateboard brand logos, like Almost, Birdhouse, Chocolate and others. Most skateboarders simply advise to choose a board whose graphics you like and get skating. As you learn the art of skateboarding, you’ll figure out what kind of characteristics you like in a board and you’ll be a bit more specific in your requirements for your second board.
