A discussion on skateboarding obviously comprises a large list of topics besides the ones that have already been discussed. The list of these “others” must definitely include things like the all important skateboard shops and unfortunate skateboarding crashes. Skateboarding crashes often lead to a wide variety of skateboarding injuries that all skateboarders should be aware of. No discussion on skateboarding is complete without mentioning skateboarding history and famous skateboarding logos. Finally, skateboarding enthusiasts love to hear about the skateboarding myspace layouts and the skateboarding pictures that are available on the Internet.
Skate shops are the backbone of the skateboarding world and the entire skateboarding industry. While it’s true that they provide essential equipment and gear to skateboarders, they also do so much more. They provide a place where skaters can hang out with other skaters and a source of information regarding all things related to skateboarding.
As with all topics, a little bit of history is necessary to fully understand the current state of events. Skateboarding history is no different; actually, skateboarding history is quite interesting, from its origins as pretty much a way of surfing in the streets to its punk transformation and to the hip-hop influence of modern times. The enormous amount of skateboarding logos in the skateboarding world is an expression of the rich history of this “sport”. Each logo represents a particular company and many logos are full of symbolic meaning.

With the advent of the Internet, new ways of proclaiming your love for something have been invented; there’s wallpaper, pictures and myspace layouts. Skateboarding pictures are in no short supply on the Internet and you can have your pick of any one to use as wallpaper or as a personal image for your online messenger program, like MSN or Yahoo Messenger. You can also take a picture and pop it into a myspace editor to create your personalized myspace layout; your myspace page can then be dedicated to skateboarding.
Unfortunately, there are also negative aspects to skating. Even the pros sometimes can’t land the tricks they try and many attempts end in skateboard crashes. These can be humorous, especially if caught on tape, but they can also be very painful. Many crashes lead to skateboarding injuries; these can be something mild like a bump, bruise or scratch, or something serious like a broken bone or two. Some skateboarding injuries, if serious enough, can actually put a skateboarder out of commission for some time, preventing him from skating. And for a skateboarder, this is even more horrible than the pain of the injury itself.
