Chocolate Skateboards
Chocolate Skateboards was founded in 1996, as a result of overflow from the company Girl Skateboards. Since the Girl team was too numerous to take on more professionals, Chocolate Skateboards was started; it, along with Girl, Fourstar, Royal and Lakai are all part of the Crailtap family. Though technically Chocolate and Girl are separate teams, both teams often tour together and riders will use the boards of either company. The company markets mainly Chocolate Skateboard decks and wheels, though it also offers accessories and clothing.
There are a number of skateboard companies that are having skate decks constructed in China; these are not high quality decks at the moment and should be avoided. A Chocolate Skateboard deck is made from 7 plies of quality Canadian maple, fused together with care and finished in the US. The Chocolate skateboard company has a good reputation and history. All boards have a light concave and a medium pop.
If you check out the Chocolate Skateboard official site, you’ll see the great lineup of Chocolate Skateboard decks available. Taking the Chocolate Chunk skateboard deck series as an example, most graphics are simple, yet bold, with the pro series having the word “Chocolate” scrawled across the bottom. Each pro team member has his own colors; Mike York’s board is light brown/gray with light green writing, Scott Johnston’s board is neon pink with yellow writing, Chico Brenes’ board is black with white writing, Richard Mulder’s is purple with green writing, Gino Ianucci’s is brown with pin writing, Kenny Anderson’s is pink with white writing and Marc Johnson’s is white with light blue writing.

The Chocolate Skull series wheels have been matched with these decks. These wheels are very simple, standard polyurethane and high quality. They’re comfortable and well-designed. They have tread and are small, perfect for street skating and performing tricks; these wheels come in the three most popular sizes of wheels.
You can also purchase DVDs of Chocolate’s tours, such as the Hot Chocolate tour video; some lines of skateboards actually come with a free copy of Chocolate tour footage. Besides decks and wheels, you can purchase Chocolate Skateboards clothing, including fleece hoodies, t-shirts, hats and beanies. Accessories are also available on the website, such as various pieces of hardware, bearings and wax, plus other things like key chains, backpacks belts, radios, stickers, patches, wallets, shoelaces, hip packs and gloves. All of these accessories, especially those you wear, come in a variety of designs to match some of the more popular board designs.
