Birdhouse Skateboards
If you ask most skateboarders who invented the skateboard company Birdhouse Skateboards, almost all of them will be able to tell you Tony Hawk and Per Welinder. Both are well-known professional skateboarders who were previously with the skateboard company Powell Peralta. Birdhouse Skateboards was started in 1992 and not only manufactures skateboards, but also makes accessories and clothing. Birdhouse Skateboard company is part of the Blitz Distribution family.
Birdhouse skateboard decks offer a smooth ride and a good amount of pop. A Birdhouse skateboard deck is also long-lasting, made out of Canadian Maple; Birdhouse skateboard models are manufactured in California. There are quite a number of reviews online of Birdhouse skateboarding products, including Birdhouse skateboards and trucks. Many people find Birdhouse boards to be excellent products because they last long, even on the streets, and they’re very easy to use. They’re also appreciated because of their durability and their concave.
Many skateboarders, though, feel that these boards have a weak pop and that they’re expensive. Some people don’t like the concave and believe that these boards are only suited for half pipes, not the street. Others don’t mind the price and actually think the pop is quite acceptable. Quite a number of reviews state that these boards are relatively easy to flip tricks on.
The Birdhouse Skateboard team is headed by Tony Hawk, perhaps the most popular vertical skateboarder. He invented a number of aerial skateboard tricks, totaling more than 80 in number, but is probably most well-known for being the first person to perform two and half rotations in the air before landing on the pipe; this move is called the 900. Though he retired from skateboard competitions shortly after this, he still skates and performs at demonstrations.
Another illustrious member of the Birdhouse Skateboard team is Shaun Roger White; besides being a professional skateboarder, White is also a professional snowboarder. He’s been competing in extreme sports, having made various appearances at the X Games, since he was 12 years old. White has also made appearances in various media programs and even video games. He turned pro when he was 16 years old, in 2003, and won a silver medal at the 2005 Summer X Games for men’s vert. He was the first skateboarder to land a Cab 7 Melon Grab and he is the only skater to land the bodyvarial frontside 540. There are seven other members on the team.
