Thailand Scuba Diving
Thailand scuba diving usually involves any one of a series of livaboards that traverse the Andaman Sea and other waterways to allow divers to explore the underwater landscapes surrounding various islands spotting the sea. These islands are quite often different than their correlative underwater communities, which makes spending time on the islands themselves just as wondrous as being in the water.
The sheer number of features at any scuba diver’s disposal while in Thailand reflect how dedicated the country is to accommodate this activity: 60 Phuket liveaboard trips, 28 daytrip boats, at least 16 different Thailand scuba dive destinations, 30 resorts that accommodate divers, a whopping 250 dive sites that involve virtually every island in the Andaman Sea, including the famous Similan Islands, and no less than 60 PADI-affiliated scuba diving courses in relation to Phuket Island. With these numbers, any scuba diving enthusiast, whether new or seasoned, will have no trouble finding some kind adventure in the country.
Among the islands and other sites to be seen on any liveaboard scuba diving trip are Phuket Island; Burma; the Phi Phi Islands; Krabi; Koh Samui Island; Khao Lak; Racha Yai and Racha Noi, two granite islands featuring sandy beaches; Hin Daeng, a large underwater growth displaying an endless array of various aqua colonies; Koh Dok Mai, a flower island where the flowers bloom in bright colors under water amid a vast community of marine life that includes octopuses, seahorses, manta rays, whale sharks, reef sharks, frogfish, pipefish, nudibranchs, and leopard sharks; Anemone Reef, a submerged rock with flourishing life scattered around its steep base; shark point; and the King Cruiser Wreck, a car and passenger ferry that sunk near Kobe Japan with no lost life in 1997.

Scuba diving in Thailand waters can literally cover several hours a day for several days, without experiencing everything there is to see, but whichever liveaboard cruise one takes, so many exciting and memorable things will be encountered that will lure both beginning and seasoned divers back for more.
When it comes to scuba diving holidays, Thailand scuba diving packages provide many accommodations. The numerous liveaboards themselves, as do many resorts, guesthouses, and Inns, offer three affordability levels—high budget, medium budget and low budget—so virtually anyone can enjoy. Comfortable, air-conditioned cabins; a variety of non-alcoholic beverages (preferable for those diving in unfamiliar waters), onboard catering, exercise and fitness weights, night torches and air tanks, and professionally certified divers who serve in a supervisory capacity, especially for beginners. Cheap scuba diving in Thailand, then, is relative, depending on the particular level of affordability, but prices are reasonable for everybody.
Scuba diving Thailand-style is very rich in history and culture, so excitement also comes with learning. Those who are fortunate to have the opportunity to experience scuba diving in this part of the world return home with lasting effects and a deeper passion for exploration.
