Paintball Teams
So you love the game of paintball and you want to get a little more serious. The thought occurs to you to start a paintball team; you see all the professional paintball teams getting free gear, lots of attention and, especially, doing what they love. You think that could be you; but before you jump in and try to make a paintball team, step back and think about a few things.
First off, you should try to organize about 5 to 15 paintball players that you know fairly well and that you trust. You should make sure that each paintballer has his or her own gear. Before starting a paintball team, you should be familiar with how your potential team members play, what their strong points and weak points are and what their paintball team positions could potentially be. You should discuss the idea of starting a team before diving into the idea to make sure that all potential members think on relatively the same wavelength with regards to the importance of training, pushing yourselves, etc.
It’s no secret that paintball teams, like all other sports teams, need some kind of leader. Once you’ve figured out that all potential members of your paintball team are compatible, you should decide on a captain for the team; this doesn’t necessarily have to be the best player, just the most organized player with good leadership skills. At this point, you should also think about a name for your team. Paintball team names come in all different flavors and you should pick a name that everyone is comfortable with; think about creating paintball team name forums where you allow people to come up with names for you or vote on names that you and your team have thought up.

If you’re forming a girls’ paintball team the names that you’ll come up with may be slightly different than those for boy’s teams; think about whether you’d like something female-geared or neutral. For example, something like the Bunker Babes or the Femmes Fatales is a paintball team name that’s excellent for girls’ paintball teams, but not so good for either a boy’s team or a mixed team.
Whether you want to start a scenario paintball team or a speedball team, you’re going to have to make sure your paintball team practices. Practice serves to hone your skills both for playing on the field and for impressing sponsors. Pro paintball teams are highly dependent on their sponsors and anyone hoping to get anywhere with their team will need a paintball team sponsor, if not two or three.
Serious sponsors are not going to take on any team that hasn’t won a few tournaments and that’s why practicing is so important. You might first get some low end sponsors, but if you’re good, you’ll most likely be able to work your way up. In the end, it’s all about doing what you love.
