Paintball Equipment Brands
Due to the incredible popularity of paintball, there are a wide variety of paintball companies that manufacture all different types of paintball equipment. The numerous paintball equipment brands available on the market today include Airgun Designs, Empir3, Indian Creek Designs, the Kingman Group, Smart Parts, Tippmann and WDP.
Airgun Designs (also known as AGD) is one of the oldest paintball companies around and is based in Illinois. The company released innovative products onto the paintball market in the early 1990s and is best known for their Automag paintball marker, one of their first products. This marker was actually the first semi-automatic marker that was used by a winning team in a paintball tournament; after this win, the company became one of the leading paintball manufacturers. Airgun Designs began losing popularity as a result of its reluctance to combine its markers with electronic technology and by the end of the 1990s, its products were supplanted almost entirely by electropneumatic paintball markers. It now manufactures equipment for woodsball and scenario paintball.
Another paintball company is Indian Creek Designs, based in Idaho. It focuses mainly on markers and became popular in the late 1980s after producing a pump-action marker. Probably the most famous line of paintball guns produced by Indian Creek Designs is that known as the Bushmaster 2000. These used electropneumatic poppet valve designs, but the line was discontinued in 2004, to be replaced by the Promaster. This company also currently produces the Freestyle, used by some professional paintball teams.

Kingman Group is a very famous manufacturer of paintball equipment; the company was originally created in the early 1990s. Company products, especially markers, appeal to paintball players for their affordable cost and relatively easy maintenance requirements, especially when held in comparison to other companies. The company is most known for its paintball guns, and mostly for its Spyder line and Raven markers. The company also offers Java, which is the Kingman brand of accessories, including clothing, for paintball players.
Another famous paintball company is Smart Parts, based in Pennsylvania. They have a popular line of paintball guns, including such models as the Impulse, the Epiphany, the Shocker, the Ion and the Nerve. Some of these models are used by professional paintball teams. Smart Parts also offers various kits and barrel systems that you can essentially custom match to your gun. Furthermore, you can purchase paintball clothing with the Smart Parts logo, including underwear, jerseys and pants; Smart Parts clothing lines include casual apparel alongside clothing used specifically for paintballing. Smart Parts was the first company to offer near high-end markers for much more affordable prices.
