Angel Paintball
The Angel paintball gun is a high end marker offered by the paintball manufacturer WDP, located in Birmingham, England. The Angel was originally released in the mid-1990s and revolutionized the high end market at the time, offering a firing rate of over 10 balls per second. The name “Angel” is now given to a whole line of paintball markers, with some models able to fire at a rate of over 30 balls per second.
Many product review sites consider the Angel paintball logo to be synonymous with advanced tournament quality. While the older Angel paintball marker models were already viewed as superior markers, the newly released Angel paintball markers come equipped with Angel EyeQ technology, which WDP claims will assure players of nearly flawless and accurate operation; indeed, ball breakage is substantially reduced thanks to the fact that cycling is prevented until the paintball is in place. This technology is under the control of the new Angel Fly board, an electronic circuit board that is fast, intelligent and user-friendly; this system is responsible for allowing the new Angel guns to achieve firing rates that can reach 31 balls per second.

Some of the highest quality Angel guns are equipped with such high performance features as increased gas outlet, LPR assembled, lower pressure operation, balanced exhaust valve operation, light weight construction and soft grip design. An important member of the Angel product line is the G7 and this particular model offers a breakaway trigger and a short barrel thread. Many Angel markers can be purchased in different colors. The Angel Speed ’05 and ’06 come highly recommended, given their lower costs (compared to other professional, tournament quality markers), smooth trigger mechanisms, fast action, and ease of maintenance.
If you’ve purchased an Angel paintball gun and are looking to upgrade it, there are a variety Angel paintball gun upgrades available for you, including barrels and barrel kits. You can also easily purchase feeds, triggers, bolts, internal parts, air accessories and a whole slew of other components. Just be aware of the fact that Angel upgrades, especially authorized Angel parts, can be quite expensive. If you’d like to try the Angel out, but are on a budget, you could always try to buy a cheap Angel paintball gun, like a used Angel paintball gun. Using a cheap Angel paintball gun for a while will help you decide if you like the gun enough to invest the money to purchase a new one.
If you read customer reviews on the Angel paintball gun line, you’ll find both players that love the gun and players that hate it. Obviously, as with everything else, there is a certain level of subjectivity that comes with using a particular product. Your best bet is to talk to as many experts as possible to see what they think.
